It gives you flexibility. It strengthens your muscles. It relieves stress… None of that is new to you. But did you know that yoga can be great for your skin too? Here are four yoga poses to strengthen your skin from the inside. Namaste!
Also known as the standing forward bend, this pose increases blood circulation in the face, neck and head. What’s more, it relaxes your facial muscles and balances out your hormones. All of which can only be good for your skin.
The more blood that gets pumped to your face, the better your skin glows. That’s where this pose, also known as the triangle pose, comes in handy. The improved circulation helps remove toxins, kill free radicals, and clear any blockages under your skin. It also de-stresses your facial muscles.
The best thing about this pose, also known as the cobra pose, is that it stretches the top half of your body, expanding the chest, and allowing you to inhale more oxygen. More oxygen means more life! It eliminates the toxins and free radicals in your system, reducing several skin problems such as acne, sunburn, rosacea and psoriasis.
Here’s one for advanced yogis. Free radicals are unstable atoms or groups of atoms that cause photo aging, cancer and skin inflammation. Thankfully, a good way to reduce them is this yoga pose. It has the added benefits of increasing oxygen supply to the face and flushing out toxins.
