Birthdays are inevitable. It’s a fact; eternal youth is nothing but a fantasy. But what does exist is having a positive attitude through life and being your best self every day. Remember, that with aging comes wisdom; the kind that tells you that age is nothing but a state of mind.
That’s the outlook bloggers Jeannette Kaplun and Marina Reed have on the matter. They both talked to us about how they live their lives without age limits, how they help other women do the same, and how they take care of their skin with anti-wrinkle creams like POND’S® Rejuveness.
How do you defy age limits?
Because of work, I’m constantly in front of a camera getting my picture taken and I’m sometimes around a lot of younger people, which can lower your self-esteem or make you feel insecure. However, once you realize everything you’ve experienced in life and you have self-confidence, you realize this transcends age.
Three and a half years ago, I had to re-invent myself to start a new path in my career. I’m the type of person who believes it’s never too late to reinvent oneself. It’s important to leave the limitations we put up for ourselves behind and silence that little voice at the back of your head that tells you "it’s too late" and take risks no matter what age you are.
What advice would you give women for defeating age limits?
The first thing I would say is that you need to be happy with who you are and try to find what makes you happy, a responsible happiness that doesn’t harm others. And when you find it, you need to do whatever it takes to make it a reality. People tend to put off their dreams and say, “I’ll do it when I have money, when I have time, when my kids grow up.”
Let’s not waste time and understand that there’s never going to be a perfect time to do it. Also, once you pursue your dreams you’ll feel happier with yourself.
What’s your advice for taking care of your skin and wrinkle prevention?
My first thought is to accept that each and every expression line is a sign of joy and life experiences. Don’t be afraid of capturing those memories on your face.
For skin care, I clean my face every night with a cleanser or makeup remover wipes and I never leave home without SPF. Also, to hydrate my skin, it’s very important to use a good anti-wrinkle cream, eat healthy, and get enough sleep.
How do you defy age limits?
Because of my work as a makeup artist I’m always in contact with a lot of women and they’re always surprised that I’m already a mother of three before reaching my 30’s. I’m often told, “you’re so young and have so many kids. How do you find time to work?” I believe that as long as you’re happy with your decisions and your career, age is irrelevant.
I’m very happy with my kids and my job and I can do both well. For me, you can tell you’re making the right choices by the measure of your happiness.
What advice would you give women for defeating age limits?
I have a lot of older clients, and some more mature aged brides who feel pressured to appear younger. I always tell them they’re each beautiful at their ages and I adapt the makeup in a way that’s true to their beauty and skin. I tell them it’s ok to feel young and remind them age limits don’t exist.
If you’re emotionally and physically capable, you can do whatever you want whenever you want. If something makes you happy, do it, age doesn’t matter and don’t ever limit yourself.
What’s your advice for taking care of your skin and wrinkle prevention?
My #1 tip is to drink water and always use a moisturizing cream like POND’S® Rejuveness. I recommend using it in the morning and at night after cleansing. Also, it’s super important to start using a moisturizer after you turn 20.
It’s easier to reduce the appearance of wrinkles the sooner you start to use an anti-wrinkle cream in your beauty routine. Wear it under your makeup as a primer so your skin looks amazing.
